A WEYMOUTH pub is making changes to make it a better place to visit in the summer.

A planning application from JD Wetherspoon plc went before the planning committee at Weymouth Town Council.

The proposal was for three sets of windows on the Westham Road side of the William Henry pub to be replaced with "summer opening doors" and for a safety rail to be installed there too.

Councillors were unanimous in raising no objection to the plans, subject to the conservation officer's comments being satisfied.

The conservation officer supported the application subject to there being a design and access statement as well as a heritage statement included in the application.
